Antique Needlework Sampler created in 1842 by Mary Elizabeth Mulliner, aged 9. Constructed on linen using silk thread. From an estate sale in Ridgefield, Connecticut.The section under the alphabet letters reads: "Mary Elizabeth Mulliner, aged 9 N. Y. Aged 9 Years March 20 1842"Overall very nice condition for its age. There are holes in various places and some missing thread. The sampler is in a glass frame with a hanging wire in back. Professionally framed.Sampler measurements: 11.875 x 9.75 in. (300 x 250mm). Overall measurements including frame: 14.75 x 12.5 in. (377 x 319mm).Carefully packed and shipped fully insured. A rare historical piece!
